I aim to capture the emotions – happy & tearful – of each wedding I photograph. These spontaneous reactions are linked to the incredible energy that exists at a wedding. Everything is important, every detail has been planned and created for a particular reason. I love to photograph the essence of this.
I am interested in the love between the bride & groom, and recording that connection – the relationship and love that they share. This happens most effectively by photographing in a photo-journalistic (or documentary) style, with simple composition and beautiful light. This approach creates a wonderful set of spontaneous and creative images for the bride & groom to keep and revisit.
You will have forever a true record of the love and happiness of your day.
I studied at the Shelley Park College of Art in England, where I was introduced to the elements of artistic composition and the practicalities of photographic development. At post-graduate level, I attended the prestigious Bournemouth and Poole College of Art which attracts students from all over the world. Here, I became immersed in art history and began to see the connections between photography and fine art. At this level I had the privilege of working with leading international artists and photographers who guided me towards developing my own personal style.
After spending 5 years working professionally in London, I travelled to Australia in my 20s. I fell in love with the place – as well as with my future wife, Shannon. Since setting up our professional studio near Fremantle, I’ve shot hundreds of weddings (as well as scores of family, kids and maternity portraits). In 2011 we decided to move our family to Margaret River, where the lifestyle is suited to bringing up our 3 kids, and the location perfect for further pursuing my niche in specialist wedding photography.
I live life passionately, and with my family pursue a sustainable life that is filled with fun, love & laughter.
I consider myself lucky to work in the field of wedding photography, to be charged with capturing the moments of the most important day of anyone’s live.
